    Stand is a non-profit education advocacy organization focused on ensuring all students receive a high quality, relevant education, especially those whose boundless potential is overlooked and under-tapped because of their skin color, zip code, first language, or disability.

     

    About the Campaign

     

    The Invest in Education Act creates a dedicated funding source to keep great teachers in Arizona classrooms and give our students the one-on-one attention they need to be successful. Our politicians have led us on a 28-year spree of tax cuts that took resources away from public schools and resulted in the teacher shortage crisis we face today, classrooms with outdated textbooks and technology, too many students, and deteriorating facilities.

    The Position

    Your role stands at the intersection of campaigns and the fight to change the odds for low-income children and families. As a key member of Stand’s Arizona team at a moment of tremendous need and opportunity, you will work closely with the Arizona Executive Director, VP of Elections, and Organizing staff to manage and execute Stand’s Invest in Ed field campaign.

    Responsibilities

    Implementing a comprehensive, data driven campaign plan that includes, but is not limited to:

    • Draft and execute field plan that will build capacity to win as defined by Stand’s Invest in Ed universes in Central, Southern, and Northern Arizona;
    • Manage three field organizers, including their day-to-day activity, and setting SMART goals for organizers against the deliverables and milestones outlined in the field plan;
    • Partnering with Marketing/Communication team to develop and implement a digital organizing strategy that leverages online to offline action takers ensuring that shift goals are met for voter ID, persuasion and GOTV knocks and calls;
    • Identifying strategic tactics for capacity building that include, but are not limited to:
      • Online list-building, hot-leads follow-up calls, and engagement
      • Referrals and community outreach
      • Phone-banking
      • Point of entry opportunities including pledge drives (commit to vote for Invest in Ed), email recruitment, statewide calls with guest speaker, Days of Action, house parties, etc.;
    • Tracking, reporting, and managing staff for results/holding them accountable to the deliverables outlined in the plan.

    Qualifications

    • Passionate commitment to Stand for Children’s mission and strategy to ensure that all children, regardless of their background, graduate from high school prepared for and with access to a college education;
    • 3-5 years of experience working on a state or district electoral campaign;
    • At least 1 cycle managing field organizers on an electoral or issue campaign;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of successful campaign strategies, tactical execution to achieve results;
    • Solid political instincts and the ability to influence a diverse group of citizens toward action;
    • Exceptional communicator, including developing and delivering persuasive and concise content to large audiences;
    • Voter file experience;
    • Experience working with diverse populations that include all ethnic and socioeconomic groups;
    • Project management skills and keen attention to detail;
    • Capacity to build and maintain effective systems in a fast-paced, ever-shifting campaign environment;
    • Strong drive for results; embraces innovation and takes positive risks to achieve measurable outcomes;
    • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends;
    • Full-time access to a car;
    • Ability to effectively manage remote staff;
    • Ability to be in multiple locations in the course of a given day, the ability to transport items, and the ability to set up and take down meeting equipment (chairs, tables, projectors, screens, etc.); May require the ability to climb stairs.
