Stand for Children is a nonprofit advocacy group fighting to ensure that every child at the bottom of the economic ladder in America receives the high-quality education he or she needs to rise. A good education is at the core of the American dream -- it is the bedrock of jobs, security and the pursuit of a better life. Yet the life chances of too many children are wasted because their family’s income or neighborhood doesn’t enable them to attend a strong school -- and our whole country pays the price of their squandered potential.
Stand for Children is fighting to change the odds. We believe every student who works hard has a right to receive an education that will prepare her for college, career, and a secure future. We advocate boldly for alongside families and teachers for policies and candidates that will make that vision a reality. Over 20 years, we have celebrated successes such as expanding access to quality pre-K, improving 3rdgrade reading proficiency, increasing graduation rates, strengthening academic standards, supporting teachers, increasing the number of quality schools and expanding access to career and technical education and college level classes.
